Old Habits Die Hard

I really tried to make a swift move to Wordpress and create a different blog, with new goals & intentions. However, Blogger fits me and the way that I work. So, I am please to announce that I will bring BillioneUSA back to Blogger!

Starting today, I am going to revamp this blog and make it what it should have been! Edgy, forward thinking and a deeper reflection of who I am. Stay tuned for updates.

New BILLIONE Blog on Wordpress

Some of you were saddened by the news that I retired this blog. My decision was inpart due to not having much to say and my new obsession, Twitter. Though I don't plan to blog here anymore, I am taking this time to announce my new blog on Wordpress. It is called Billione R(e)volution. CLICK HERE TO FOLLOW ME! Here is the first post I made today.

Today marks my 4th anniversary of being a vegetarian. I wanted to commemorate this day by committing myself to an even greater life! I plan to use this blog to share information about my journey toward better health and a better existence.

Included will be my decision to develop a alcohol, dairy, caffeine, gluten, sugar free diet. Also, books, poetry, music, travel experiences and thoughts that help me EVOLVE as an even better human being. This is quite REVOLUTIONARY for me.

During my journey, I will share more and more about myself. Hopefully, we will learn together how to become even better human beings and share the world.

I live by and share a quote attributed to Oprah Winfrey that applies to EVERYTHING I do. It reads,”The whole point of being alive is to evolve into the complete person you were intended to be.”

The operative words are EVOLVE and COMPLETE. I hope to live a long and healthful life, shared with others, and evolve into a more complete person.

The Big Announcement

THANKS FOR AWAITING MY ANNOUNCEMENT!

Actually, I have 2 announcements.

March 2007, I released my first chapbook of poetry, and started a small publishing company with my sister called KILMGELY BOOKS. We printed and sold more than 300 copies of my first chapbook entitled Love: In Hindsight, with little to no promotion. We've sold them to book clubs, troops in Iraq, and even had them at books stores and in libraries. After that, I released another chapbook entitled USA: United States of Adversity. I was set to release my third, Quo Vadis, but pulled it. (The energy wasn't right.) I hope to release it before the end of the year. :)

SO, WHAT ARE THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS?

This is the first one!

On July 27, I will be releasing a chapbook of special poetry entitled Centric. This collection of poetry features 7-9 poems, collages, and photos that will chronicle 7 days of my life. This collection may include Free Verse, Found Poetry, Abstract Poetry, and various other forms. You will be able to purchase the e-book for $5 and/or a physical copy for $10 (plus shipping) via PayPal.

The second announcement comes after months of thinking and processing. I first started this blog around June 6, 2007. With this being my 500th post, I recognize that I have shared so much about my private and personal life, and have learned so much about you and the world. I also witnessed a major chapter in the history of the world... the election of BARACK OBAMA as the first Black president of the USA! Much like society, the dynamics of my life are changing and I want to keep up with them.

I realize that I have shared all that I am willing to share, via this blog. So, with this post and with much gratitude in my heart, and love for all of my loyal readers, I henceforth retire this blog. I will still be available on Twitter and MySpace, and maybe one day on Facebook. I will also still maintain my links and blogroll and finally finishing tags on this blog, I just won't be making posts. (I AM STILL GOING TO READ ALL MY FAVORITE BLOGS.)

I want to thank all of you for even being interested in reading about my life as a Black man in America. I especially want to thank Cool Crys, Glennisha Morgan, Ryan's Den, Charlie's Thought of the Day, The SuperSpade and VerShawna.

I will forever be thankful for the opportunity to share and grow with you!

My close friend said to me today that sometimes you have to remove things from your life so that other things can come in. I concur.

7 Things I Heard About MAXWELL

I've heard a few things about MAXWELL that I like...

1) He wears gap
2) His video Pretty Wings will premire on 106 & Park this Tuesday.
3) He will release 3 CDs in the near future.
4) His first of 3 will be released July 7
5) He will be performing on BET June 28 2009
6) He is on the board for BET
7) He is going to tour again soon

**Speaking of which, I read that BET is starting another network for viewers 25 and older called CENTRIC. As interested as I am, I can't help but wonder why they didn't fix the old BET.

It Just Keeps Getting Better For Bey

People are saying all kinds of things about Beyonce and her most recent silver screen installment Obsessed. I think that the negativity sparked this film is a result of haters just being haters because the girl appears to have it all.

I went to see the film today and enjoyed it. Sure it was quite predictable, but it was finally good to see a film about a crazy "B" and the Sistah wasn't the crazy "B." Idris Elba (wit his fine ass) and Ali Larter also stared in the film.

People need to get off Beyonce's back, unless of course they are hanging out to kiss her rump.
